Daniel Ricciardo Wins 2014 Hungarian Grand Prix

Daniel Ricciardo took the lead with only 3 laps remaining and picked up his 2nd Grand Prix win of the season. 

Lewis Hamilton started the race from pit lane and after an early off in the rain, found himself in last place with a 10+ second gap behind the next driver. At the halfway point in the race, he found himself in 7th place. A few laps later, he was in 5th. Nearing the end of the race, he found himself in 2nd place for awhile until his tires started to go. He dropped to 3rd on the last few laps and held off teammate Nico Rosberg to lock a podium finish. 

Fernando Alonso gets his 2nd and Ferrari’s 2nd podium finish this season. 

Force India driver Sergio Perez crashed on the start/finish straight after losing control coming out of the final corner which ended his race. Shortly after, Red Bull Driver Sebastian Vettel had a major spin coming out of the same corner causing him to barely clip the wall on the straightaway only to continue racing. 

Nico Roserg continues to lead in Championship points lead with 202 points followed by team-mate Lewis Hamilton with 191 points. Daniel Ricciardo sits in third with 131 points.

In the Constructors’ World Championship, Mercedes continues its domination with 393 points, followed by Red Bull with 219 points and Ferrari with 142 points.
